Things have been very busy around here. I am opening booths in 3 new stores around West Michigan in the next two weeks!!
1. is in Jenison at the A-Z resale store on Chicaco Dr.
2. is in Wayland at B&K Flea Market on Main St.
3. is in Kalamazoo Alamo Depot Craft and Antiques Mall on West D Avenue.
We are also still in the Estate Sales Warehouse by Center Point Mall in GR next to Best Buy
Today I have gotten some Korker Ribbons cooked :) starting to put them together.
For those of you who do not know I am also a contract sewer. I just got an email saying they are going to need 100 cart covers and just ordered the fabric. Which means I need to hurry and get all the products done for these 3 new stores before this order for cart covers come in :( LOL
My sons baseball season has started. That has been keeping us busy. It seems like when he gets hom from school it is rush rush. Need to eat, get home work done, get to the game a half hour early (6pm) and don't get home until almost 8 which is their bed time. So we have not been getting to bed until 8:30. Ugh.

Life and biz
Today did not go so well. I got my website orders and give away items in the mail this morning. Went to the gym for an hour and a half and to Meijer to get Savana some strawberrys. Then.... Savana got a fever and tried to throw up on me. Not good. Grandma came and got Cayden and took him to his baseball practice so that helps. Dog ate half my cake off the stove. Cayden ate said cake any way saying "she licks your face and mouth any way" which he did have a point. Gor about 7 flower clips done and a few wholesale orders placed. I decided to call it a day and watch a movie with sick daughter. WOOHOO.

Day 1 of Day in the life of Joie King and Savvy Bowtique
Day in the life of Joie King and Savvy Bowtique - New idea. I will post a short blog on my life and starting my own business.
My name is Joie, I have two kids - Cayden who is 7 and Savana who is 4. My husband is David and he is GREAT. Very supportive. I have been a stay at home, work at home mom for over 2 years and I do believe by the time my kids are grown I will be insane and not be able to enjoy it. But, it is not all bad. My wonderful husband remodeled out basement so I could start a contract sewing biz which is where I started. I had a few clients but cut back to only one local client making hospital cart covers for a company in GR. That biz takes up over half the basement. Then I decided I wanted to do something more fun and interesting. That is where Savvy Bowtique came from. I started making korker hair bows and clippies and it went from there. I did some craft shows last fall and made some money, It was very exciting. At almost every show I did I would get the question - do you sell online? do you have a website? WELL ....The beginning of this year the website started. It is now April and I would still say it is not finished. But it is getting there. www.savvybowtique.com - Check it out and tell me what you think. I have enjoyed building it but it has not brought in much traffic yet. A few orders here and there but I still have MUCH to do. I am just now starting some of the free or giveaway type of advertising. I can't wait until May 1 to see if it is going to pay off. I am scheduled for two blog giveaways and I am working on my facebook Check it out and become a fan. I do giveaways quite often!!
Today I spent the day with the kids outside because it was 80 in Michigan in April, we have to take advantage of that. I did do a little fan seeking on facebook and sent a few emails. I got a request to do a Photo Conference but they are insane with their prices for a booth space. I can't do it.
Now I am watching Julie and Julia and enjoying the quiet time:)

Things are smoothing out nicely!! Website is up and running. I need to add a few more pictures and items which should be done very soon. Camera is working great. I have a few giveaways coming up that I will anounce very soon!! Facebook is coming along well. Fan base is growing quickly!! Many craft shows coming up and products in a few new stores soon!!
